For the last 30 years, thousands of experts have gathered together at the International Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS). The EVS, which started in 1969, is a place for these experts to meet in person and discuss the present and future of electromobility. This annual event powers the innovation that will be used to drive vehicle lineups and production away from fossil fuels and towards sustainable energy sources. This year, Stuttgart, Germany, home of Porsche, will be the host for the 30th annual EVS.
Porsche sponsors this year’s EVS alongside companies Daimler, Bosch, Mahle, and EnBW. At a press release earlier this year, Porsche’s representative, Otmar Bitsche, discussed Porsche's current focus on fast and efficient charging. The manufacturer aims to create a charging infrastructure that will provide electric vehicles an 80% charge in just 15 minutes. The company is currently working on building an all-electric sports car that will charge this quickly while still offering a performance that meets the high Porsche standards.
Charging is an important element across the board when it comes to electromobility, as are power supplies and battery technology. The EVS will allow experts to further develop exciting plans for the future of automobiles.
